CELIEM Joins Banco Nacional’s SME Evolution Program

October marked the beginning of a transformative journey for 22 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises focused on sustainability.

This journey is part of the “Evolución Pyme” program, an initiative led by Banco Nacional de Costa Rica (BN) through its Sustainability Division, in partnership with allied organizations such as Biomatec and CELIEM.

At CELIEM, we are proud to contribute our expertise in training and business support to this process, which will enable entrepreneurs to align and integrate sustainability factors into their business models, thus enhancing profitability in a way that is more responsible toward the environment and society.

The goal of “Evolución Pyme” is to transform BN's SME clients into sustainable companies, expanding their growth potential. The aim is for these businesses to serve as examples of best practices and to become benchmarks for other SMEs nationwide.

Training and Support

CELIEM and Biomatec launched the program on October 29 with the first of ten training sessions for these entrepreneurs. Through these sessions, participants will gain insights into responsible business conduct, the importance and best practices of sustainability, governance, strategic planning, stakeholder value, ESG considerations, sustainability reporting and accountability, and the significance of sustainable products.

We are honored to be part of this initiative that will strengthen the competitiveness and development of SMEs participating in the program. Beyond training, the program will provide ongoing business support in the coming weeks.
