In a constantly changing business world, information is key to making strategic decisions. For this reason, at the Mipyme Observatory we work to analyze the challenges and opportunities of the mipyme ecosystem in Costa Rica and the region.

The vision of this instrument was born in response to the impacts of Covid-19 on MSMEs with the aim of understanding its effects, but also due to the need to create a competitiveness agenda that would strengthen these businesses in the face of the consequences of that time.

Today, four years later, we have accumulated six specialized monitoring projects, two impact reports and a consultation on economic impact. These products were not created to become just another sectoral data resource, but have been the basis of essential public policies approved recently.

The path built with the different investigations during this period led us to create a more structured model of research capable of generating impact. Therefore, thanks to our alliance with the Universidad Latina, we are jointly building a solid articulation of an observatory based on our own methodology that allows us to achieve more analyses conducive to our objectives.
